E-Commerce Web Sites

Do you need an e-commerce site where you can sell products or services? We can create an online store for physical products or virtual products and services. Best of all, we work closely with you through the entire process so you get exactly what you need vs. unnecessary bells and whistles.

There are hundreds, if not thousands, of ways to build an online store. We’ve been running our own online stores for years and our experience has led us to three methods which cover the needs of most businesses.

  1. PayPalFor situations where you have a small number of items to sell, we can set up a shopping cart with PayPal. You don’t have to purchase anything and PayPal handles all of the payments for you. If you aren’t already familiar with PayPal, they allow customers to pay with a bank account, major credit cards or money stored in a PayPal account.
  2. woocommerce_logoA popular add-on to WordPress is the WooCommerce shopping cart. The add-on itself is free and it allows you to build a database of products to sell that integrates easily with your Web site. While the add-on itself is free, there are many extensions adding extra features that can be purchased.
  3. WP-Easy-Cart-Logo_2-300x69One of our favorite solutions for e-commerce is WP EasyCart. While it does have an upfront cost, it includes many of the features you’d need to purchase with WooCommerce. Even better, you can run a “store control panel” from your computer desktop or a tablet. We find it to be the best choice for most businesses.

We will discuss all options with you so that together we can select the best e-commerce solution for your site. In some cases it may be advantageous to sell your products on another popular site such as Amazon.

As part of any e-commerce solution, customers need a way to pay you. We already mentioned PayPal as a great choice and it does work with all of the popular shopping cart systems. You can also accept credit cards directly, though it would be important to install an SSL (Secure Socket Layer) certificate on your site to make sure the transactions are secured. This isn’t required if you only accept PayPal as all of the payment information is entered directly on the PayPal site which is already secured.

Once someone has purchase a product or service, you’ll need to fulfill that order. If a product requires shipment, we’ll work with you to integrate the shipping carriers that work best for you and pricing for shipping will be setup in your chosen shopping cart. For virtual products, downloading of the product can happen as soon as the order is processed. Many times this is immediately after payment. We’ll share our expertise in this area to help make sure the fulfillment process is smooth for you and your customers.
